September 4, 1925, Friday
Hot and strong south wind until p.m. when wind went down, clouded some in evening and strong lightening, but no rain here and a fire started southwest towards Carroll’s but was nearly out when we went to bed. Louise and I washed clothes and she put up curtains. Mr. Smith helped with hay. Will had a headache, also Louise.
Messrs. Schaffer Sr. and Jr. came today to look at their cattle and immediately returned home. Mr. Menz was here for dinner one day this week, and came today and got a hog to butcher. I cleaned the north porch.
