1956 March 19th Monday

Bright, nice. Men fed cattle. We had a new calf Saturday, March 17, and Vere gave it milk from our canned stock and it is with mother and jumping around this day. Vere took Darryl, David and Jimmie to school, got them at 4 p.m. and the mail, a letter from Will saying that he would be at Valentine tomorrow morning at 9 to 10 a.m., so Chester and Ellen and Elaine went to mission in the Pick Up on account of roads from here to Highway. They called Otis O’Neill, Valentine Ford Garage, to get Will at train and bring him to Hidden Timber on account of roads here. Louise and Mary washed some clothes and got dinner. Harry & Billie came in their car and took Mary home so she could go to school but they went home without having dinner. Louise and I ate alone. Pearl Whiting came to say that Stanley would vaccinate for Bang the three calves that are left, and de-horn the ones not old enough last Fall, so he will come Wednesday and we will try to get word to Abbotts as they said that they would help but roads are bad around to their Place.
