in Misc. Diary Entry

June 3

1926 June 3rd Thursday

Bright but cool enough for a fire and clouded in p.m. so 2 bountiful showers and bright again. George and William listed in corn on Moore’s. Ben Clausen finished his corn and took the planter back to Menz’s in the eve. Will went around the cattle and drove them out north-east and had such a time to move them and back in eve. Mr. Lattimore came and he and Will went fishing after dinner. H. Davis of Mission stopped to inquire for Will and the barley. Thomas & Stanley here for a ball mitt. Rena, Charlotte, Lemoyne & Kenneth come via store. Fred & Gale came for a car number.

1936 June 3rd Wednesday

Partly cloudy in early forenoon and a sprinkle of rain at times so Thomas never went to maintain road but he and LeMoyne fixed fence east side of river pasture and in p.m. they harrowed and marked garden and cut potatoes to plant. Will cut the hog in pieces so I could handle them, then he went to Winner. I cooked 2 1/2 gallons meat and hung clothes out to dry, got them in, baked bread and got meals and slept in p.m.

1946 June 3rd Monday

A few clouds but enough and sun bright for clouds never covered it so clothes dried nicely as Will got in water, took it out and hung clothes on line, brought them in, in eve. He chored and LeMoyne Whiting came so they had dinner after they came from Strids to look at John Sundquist’s car. LeMoyne came horseback from Ed Whiting’s Sr. or Stanley’s, I don’t know which, first time I saw him in over 4 years, when he went to Army and has been in Germany and Austria. Will worked at his mower in late p.m.

1956 June 3rd Sunday

Bright and Will had to rest and we went out to look at cows, 18 here to calf. Shamrocks, Mr., Mrs., Grandmother and Shirley went home. Barbara Shamrock stayed at Johnsons. They went to Valentine and Vere milked cows in eve. Will and I went to Abbotts, are home separating cows and calves to take some to Lemoyne Whiting’s and Boyd’s pastures tomorrow, so Will told them that Vere could help tomorrow. Will didn’t feel good but we went to Abbotts and came right back before dark and had a lunch. Vere took $15 and went with Mrs. Ollie Arcoren and Della & Jean Marie Wright and Arcorens’ nephew, a tall boy about 10 years old, they went to Winner and Mission and it rained so Vere stayed at Chester Janis’s for the night.
