1926 June 4th Friday
A shower last night, bright, cool to-day. George & William listed corn on Moore Place. Ben went to O’Kreek to see about getting some posts to fence his place but nothing doing. Will went around the cattle and fixed fence. Ben started to fix our hog-fence. I did only ordinary work and fussed with setting hens. H. Davis gave Ben the address to S.W. 24. Fred went to store and brought our groceries. Mr. & Mrs. Ed Anderson and small daughters were to get eggs to set, nothing doing.
1936 June 4th Thursday
Rained in night and early morning but rest of day cool and bright. I got meals, cooked more meat and some lard, laid down awhile in p.m. LeMoyne went around cattle. Thomas cleaned barn. Will set out tomato plants, also 3 doz. sweet potatoes, then went to the store, mailed letters and after breakfast he and I bottled 50 bottles of root-beer and in p.m. the men planted garden and potatoes and some sweet corn.
1946 June 4th Tuesday
Bright, nice day. I got meals and visited with Narvin, Johnny, Donna and Mrs. John Boyd who came for horseshoes and roosters, 2 for breeding purposes, they went home in p.m. This is Johnny’s 3rd birthday and he played a lot. Doran M. Hamel, subscription agent, for Curtis Publishing Company, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was here so Narvin help him catch old hens to apply on Saturday Evening Post and Lady’s Home Journal for 2 years each. Will chored, ate breakfast and went to Hidden Timber to vote at Primaries, then on to Mission to have car greased, tires fixed, etc. He had dinner there, so Selective Service Meeting, Rosebud. He is Chairman. Robert Emery and Lee Anderson other members. Charles Hight, White River, is the Clerk. Home with ice-cream.
1956 June 4th Monday
Rained last night sometime around midnight so Lew Wright brought Vere home this morn and Lew slept as Vere had to go to Abbotts with Saddle so Will and Leslie took him in our car. Slid off Abbotts dam so Tractor got them back and they came home, went through our pasture and back same way. Billie Abbott in truck brought Vere and Saddle this eve and Billie right back. Leslie helped Will with Machines.
