Cloudy & cool and rained a shower in morn. George, Will and William built fence south east of Haukaas’s. Louise & Bess did up the work while I went to Tom’s with letters to mail and did a little work rest of day such as meals. Bess read and Louise sewed but had a headache so rested and in eve they went to Hidden Timber to get the mail, rushed to beat a rain that came up in eve and here just before a regular down-pour, also the boys got in. Mr. Smith of Dixon and small son brought 21 head of cattle, branded 2 and left. Jake Wisenberger came from Blacksmith Shop and got some eggs.

Cool east breeze. Bright and towards noon a real strong south wind and some dust. I got meals, slept in p.m. Will got the vaccinating outfit at Ora Daywitts and mailed a letter to Sears for enamel for our bed, then the root-beer was ready for bottles so he capped it after I had a spell about all the work to do now. LeMoyne, Thomas and Allie Walton got in the cattle from down the river so they branded, castrated and vaccinated 83 calves, just winter calves were vaccinated. They didn’t work for awhile after dinner on account of the dust and we all went to Pluggetts Show at O’Kreek in the eve and Allie stayed here for night.
